is there a way to view music so layer colors don't show?

other than saving the score as PDF, is there any other way to view a score without seeing all the layer colors?

Program options -> Display colours : change all layers to black.
The downside is that this change (as it is a program option) will be applied to all the documents, and that you will have to change colors again if you want your colours back, in any document.

You do not have to change all the colours to black!! Just uncheck the option "use colours", that's enough.
