Greetings All,

Looking for a good way to notate improvised passages. I have some places in my music where I want a few notes repeated as fast as possible over the space of many measures. Typically I place the motive in a box (using Shape Designer) but I'd like to add a horizontal line that extends from the box and through the measures in question, so the player knows exactly how long to repeat the motive.

This seems to be standard practice but for some reason I can't seem to find a good way to do this in Final 2009. Any suggestions?!?

Thanks,
Kurt

Here's an idea:

Smart Shape Tool > Custom Line Tool.

Create a Custom Line with the Line Thickness you prefer.

The Smart Shape tool has lines, dotted lines and lines with brackets that can easily be extended, like you want.
