Finale 2014.5 for Mac
I'm a long time Finale user, but I have not noticed this before. When I change the music spacing for a particular measure, say, from Note Spacing to Beat Spacing, I would expect that setting to be retained when I save the file. When I re-open the file, that particular measure has reverted to Note Spacing. I'm usually happy with Note Spacing, but in this case, I need a wider spacing because of many accidentals on 32nd notes being pushed into the preceding notes. What might I be missing? Actually, now that I think of it, it would seem that Note Spacing should be able to accommodate any accidentals on any kind of notes, so maybe something else is amiss. I have not loaded any particular libraries other than what would normally be loaded when I launch Finale.
Thanks!

It sounds like that particular system is overloaded. If the systems are locked, unlock them and respace. That should allow room for the accidentals.glennhardy wrote:Actually, now that I think of it, it would seem that Note Spacing should be able to accommodate any accidentals on any kind of notes, so maybe something else is amiss.

Try unchecking Automatic Music Spacing in Preferences > Edit. This would normally keep your changes to Beat Spacing, as well as any manual changes you've made to the spacing.glennhardy wrote:
