I'm asking for a friend. Anyone here ever imported into Finale an XML file created in Symphony Pro iPad? Thanks!

No, I have not but if it is an XML why would it not work?

Agreed. Don't know Symphony Pro, however.
Notion for iOS from PreSonus, on the other hand, works quite well as does its MusicXML export. The $9.99 includes a few instruments, too. Although there are in-app purchases ($26.99 for all the instruments), none are needed if sketching ideas and exporting via .xml to Finale is your goal.
