Grace notes causing weird redraw glitch
Moderators: Peter Thomsen, miker
In the attached, clicking on any measure with the arrow cursor causes measures to disappear. Removing the grace note triplets fixes it, and it's OK if I move the grace notes to the beginning of the next measure. I seem to recall discovering this before? Does it behave that way for any of you?
Thanks for testing.

I am testing this file in v26.2 and don't see any issues. Maybe this is a new bug to v26.3. Someone who has updated needs to test this file. Maybe you should send the file to support and have them examine it.

It does not behave that way for me - and I have the very same Finale version and Mac OS version as you.
Please specify the steps you've already taken (to solve the problem), so that we can rule out things.
(Have you tried trashing your Preferences file? Tested a brand new user account? Rebooted? - or?)
Also, I wonder whether your issue is not document specific, but rather program specific.
While the document is open, take a look in Finale’s View menu.
What Viewing style are you using?

Update Layout generally (but not always (!) redraws properly, but clicking on a measure disappears most of the page...
It does it for me in every view mode. Viewing the Score in either Page or Scroll view, as well as viewing the Part in Scroll or Page view.
It's the triplet grace notes that cause the problem for me. If i make them non-triplets, or move them to the beginning of the next measure, all is OK.
as entered: after selection with arrow cursor: selected a different measure: if multiple staves present, all disappear when selected. Odd.

I am not sure I understand.
Are you saying that you are using the Tuplet Tool on the 3 grace notes?
Why are you doing that?
Why not enter the grace notes as 3 “normal” grace notes?
Perhaps it is just me, but I have never used the Tuplet Tool on grace notes.
And I have never seen it - all grace notes I have seen, have been “normal” - “not-tuplet” - grace notes.
By The Way:
Is the problem document specific - or does it happen in all documents?

SMS,
Did you perhaps attach the wrong Finale document?

The "tuplet" flag is indeed set in the edit frame, but Finale won't show the bracket or number, if they're grace notes. I don't get your bug, but it sounds like the solution is to not use tuplets in grace notes--I don't think grace notes have rhythms, do they?
Well- you guys are right, no need for the grace notes to be a triplet, I guess I entered them that way because a group of three intuitively is a tuplet....
For me, it does display the bracket and number on triplet grace notes if entered at the beginning of a measure. It doesn't at the end, which might be a clue to the bug-
If not entered as triplets, it behaves normally, so, problem solved- it's a bug that only appears when you're doing something you never need to do- kinda low priority, I'm guessing. : )

Just like entering normal tuplets with the Speedy tools... just hit the ; key after each entry then use / to connect the beams...
