If you have the November font, it is there (messa di voce).
Or you can create a shape in the Shape Designer. That's a bit of a fuss, but you only have to do it once.

As Bill writes, this symbol is included in many fonts, see the list on my "Catalog of Music Symbols" page here:

It's in Bravura, as well. Which is free!

Thank you. I found this in the free demo of the Elbsound Music Font PagniFIN and for me it's perfect, but I am an amateur and I always used the font 'Maestro'.elbsound wrote: ↑Mon May 10, 2021 1:35 pmAs Bill writes, this symbol is included in many fonts, see the list on my "Catalog of Music Symbols" page here:

The font is here: https://github.com/steinbergmedia/bravura
To find the character, a utility like PopChar is invaluable: https://www.ergonis.com/products/popcharx/

Sorry, I do not understand. What do you mean?
Thank you. I installed and found the symbol but the rest of the symbols don't match.

Use the original Finale font for the document. Create the character as a miscellaneous expression.
Go to your expression tool, miscellaneous category. Tap Create Misc. Expression. In the next screen, enter the character. It will look wrong. Select it, and in the pull down menu below it, scroll to Bravura. You may have to fiddle with the size. I chose 24.
Standard HP does not recognize it.

There were offers from those suggesting that a font character could be used to get the look you want. Smart Shape hairpins in Finale cause the swell you want (cresc./dim.). HP (Human Playback) causes this playback. I was hoping that someone would be able to say if you would get that same playback with a font character. I've used HP for years, and my guess to my question is no. So, if you need playback, then you'll need real hairpins to get that result.
