How to use an older version of Finale after updating to 27

Post by HeartofTexas » Wed Jul 21, 2021 4:13 pm

Could not find this topic on the board. Feel free to point me to it.

Just updated to Finale 27. I did not uninstall the Finale 26 version. Finale 27 creates separate directories for each program: Finale 26 and Finale 27 in C:\Program Files\MakeMusic\Finale directory. I did not check the original Finale 26 directory, but expect it was
C:\Program Files\MakeMusic\Finale.

Finale 27 starts as expected, Finale 26 is now giving me dll not found errors (pxcview.dll is the current one). I suspect this is because the Finale26.exe file directory changed during the installation of Finale 27.

My question is what is the easiest way to set up both versions to work on one computer? I still have need to send out Finale 26 files to PC and MAC users.

Thanks,

Rick

Maybe reinstall 26?

And maybe uninstall 27, until it's really ready for use?
