The best answer is the first answer.
Using the Jazz font create a text expression that's only the character ˜ which is created with Opt-Shift-N on a Mac.
(That's not the normal tilde ~ it's a bit different ˜)
Font size: 25pt
Vertical alignment: Staff Reference Line
Additional vertical offset: -0.25
