Hey all,

Okay, I have triads on a vocal staff. I want to copy and paste on a new staff and then on the new staff, I only want the middle note to be seen. Is there a way to mass delete the top and bottom notes for the entire passage without doing them individually. All notes are in Layer 1.

Thanks.

I suggest that you go to Jari Williamson's web site:

http://www.finaletips.nu/

- and download his plug-in JW Staff Polyphony.

I believe that Jari's plug-in can help you.

By The Way:
While you are there, also take a look at Jari's many other plug-ins.
You might find his other plug-ins useful for you in other contexts.

Easy - Explode Music into 3 new staves, then delete the 2 you don't want.

First copy the triads into another staff (if you want to keep the originals). Then, like Peter suggested, JW Staff Polyphony is doing it in 1 step !

Thanks guys!

Please forgive my naiveté, this is the first time I am downloading a plug in.

I am using a MacBook Pro and the JW Polyphony is only opening in Terminal.

Any ideas how I get the actual plug in into Finale?

Thanks!

You have to unzip the file to see a file ending with .bundle.
Quit Finale.
Then, place the file in the following location (valid for your version of MacOsX and Finale 2012, but this has changed in later versions of MacOsX) :
Hard disk (not user !) -> Libraries -> Application Support -> MakeMusic -> Finale 2012 -> Plug-ins.
Relaunch Finale.
The plug-in is now visible in the plug-ins menu.
Remember to first select a region before applying a plug-in.
