Hello everyone,

When I create, for instance, 2 Flute staves, Finale will automatically put "Flute 1" and "Flute 2" next to each one. But I want flutes 1 and 2 to go on the first, and flute 3 on the second. But if I change the full staff name, the number 1 and 2 next to each staff remains. How do I change those numbers? What am I missing?

Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks so much!

When you enter a new name for the staff, do not forget to uncheck "automatic numbering" in the dialog box... (I hope my translation is correct, I have a German version)

OK, thank you for the reply. So I am using the staff tool, right clicking the name and selecting "Edit Staff Full Name," but I do not see that box to uncheck. Where do I find it?

Thanks for the help!

Which version do you use? I tried it out with 2012...

I am using 2012 as well. The box that comes up does not have an option to check or uncheck "Automatic Staff Numbering." Perhaps I am in the wrong place?

Edit: I found it in the Score Manager! Should have checked there a lot sooner. Thanks for the info, though. I am not sure why my Finale 2012 seems to be a bit different than yours.

OK, fine.
Maybe you are on a Mac? I am on Windows...
