Hello all,

For some reason, finale is adding an extra space between the root and the suffix of a chord, but only when the root has an accidental. I've looked through suffix spacing but everything I try in there just make the suffixes themselves look all sorts of screwed up. I've been googling every way I can think of phrasing this problem and haven't found anything yet. Have any of you dealt with this before? This is Finale 2012.

Oh dear, that looks really weird.

I do not recall that I have ever seen anything like that.

In order to help I think that we will need to see an actual Finale 2012 .mus document.

Before you can attach a .mus document in this forum, you must compress it, e. g. as a .zip file.
And the file size must not be more than max. 100 KB.

I have found the answer! It has to do with Font Annotation files. I followed the instructions on the following page to adjust the FAN for only the flat character. Problem solved!

I hope this helps someone else.

I am having the same problem with too much space in between a root with accidental and the chord suffix/alterations.

I tried the process described in the link above for Font Annotation and it didn't seem to work until I saved the document, quit Finale and relaunched it. When I opened the document again, the space after the # sign had gone back to normal....

Hope this will help the next person who tries the link for Font Annotation. :)
