hello,
I'm about to engrave a score that has a large number of 16th note 5lets, and i was wondering if there's a way to make a keyboard short cut for that? sort of like how "9" is a short cut that makes triplets. I already have meta tools programmed so that once im in the tuplet tool all i have to do is hit "5," but it'd be nice not to have to leave the simple entry tool.
all about efficiency! haha. Thanks!
Daniel

All that 9 does is invoke the tuplet definition that you have defined as default. There's no reason that, for this piece, you can't define the default as 5-sixteenth in the space of 4-sixteenths. Set it up, and click the box that says Save as Default. From then on, enter your first 16th note, tap 9, and enter the rest of the notes. If you need a different tuplet in the course of that piece, entr the first note, then ALT+9 to enter the definition box.
You might be able to use a macro program to preset different tuplets, but that's out of my pay grade!

why don't you use speedy entry? tuplets are easy with it...
Just press ctrl+5 before you enter 5 16th. and if you use a MIDI-Keyboard you can even fix the sixteenth notes...
