Hello,

I am running Finale 08 on XP.
I need to have polish letters, font in the lyrics of the song I am editing in Finale.

I mean all those polish letters like ś, ć, ł and so on and so on.
How can I have them in Finale?

Thanks upfront.

Arek

You can do these polish characters in Finale 2008 using Times New Roman. The secret is choosing the right script in the Font dialog box. Choose Baltic, and you'll get what you want.

I set to Baltic but only ó letter shows up correctly.
When I try to get for ex. ''ś'' [Alt + S] I am getting Save as window instead.
When I want to get ''ł'' [Alt + L] I am getting tiny 3 upper case.
Is there any other function key for getting polish characters?

ps.: and strange thing when copied from Finale window that little 3 and than pasted it here it showed as "ł''

best

I see.
By choosing Baltic script you can get some of the polish letters, but not all of them, it seems.

Today those letters are available in Unicode fonts.
Finale 2008 does not support Unicode fonts, but Finale 2012 has Unicode support.

To get the letters in Finale 2008 you may have to get a custom non-Unicode font.

Alternatively, consider an upgrade to Finale 2012.

Take a look at http://polish.typeit.org/

I don't know if it will work with Finale, or not.

You can also check Google, and look for a Polish font that has all the letters you need. That should work, once you've installed it on your system.

Maybe you will find the polish letters in the "central european" script of Times New Roman. You can select them by using "insert symbol" or by Alt+xxxx (I do not know polish, but I found the letters you described on Alt+0156, Alt+0179 and Alt+0230

You beat me to it! I found them in the CE script last night, but I was too tired to write it up!

Here are the letters that Wiki says you need. I found them all in TNR, Central European script. This screen shot is in PrintMusic 2008.
