Just installed Finale 2011 upgrade Mac, and update. 2011.r2. Registered, authorized, etc.

Opened a Finale 2010 file in progress. Looked at setting up fonts, both in Doc Prefs & "Set Default Music Font." The side-by-side "Font" and "Typeface" window appears, but both sides are blank. NO fonts of any kind (System, installed, Finale, etc.) are listed. An image of the font is in the top frame, but without name. ????

To test, I selected the title and menu "Text/Character Settings" Also produced a blank font list.

The new install was from a disk, not download, standard install.

Any ideas?

Check your FontBook, and see if there are duplicate fonts installed. This has been know to cause issues.

This reply covers both the issues I reported after the new install. After my posts, it occurred to try Fin2011 on my Mac laptop, as I did the 2 permitted installs: desktop (a Mac Mini) and laptop. 2011 on the laptop worked OK. I went back to the desktop machine, then IT worked OK. Why? No clue, but these ideas come to mind.
1. Both the laptop & Mini were turned on, partly to remember to install the update downloads on both, and partly to be sure Dropbox files were updated on both. Possibly somewhere out in the Finale cosmos, it was perceived that the app was being used simultaneously by 2 computers (which I guess is not permitted). Also fiddled with turning the laptop wireless card on & off after Fin2011 worked on that computer. If it was off, there may have been no perception that it was running on both computers. (????)

2. I keep all current Finale work files (NOT the application) in Dropbox so they can be accessed by either computer. Don't know if that rang some bells on the mother ship regarding acceptable use of the application, as part of my trial run with 2011 involved opening one of those documents.

For now, consider the problem solved. If something else pops up, will ask at the forum.

Thank you for the prompt response. Much appreciated.

Not sure about the issues, but you certainly CAN register Finale on two computers.

The install process on both computers included automatic registration and authorization, and the "success" message came through. I used the disk for both. The other problems a complete mystery, as the installs had gone well with no glitches. Anyway things seem to be working now. Thanks for the attention to my concerns.
