I am trying to enable my guitar students to distinguish between quarter notes and half notes when reading Tab-only notation. This is generally done by placing a circle around the tab note head when indicating a half note as the quarter note beams and half note beams look exactly the same in Finale. Can anyone help me to do this? I'm using Finale 2011.
Thank You!!!

Welcome to the forum!

You can e. g. add the circles with the Articulation Tool.

See the attached example, in Finale 2010 format, with a well known Nokia cell phone tune.

You can save the circles as an articulation library, and load that library into your own documents.
It might be a good idea to load the library into the template you use for new documents.
