I'm starting the process of a music book that I want to put on kindle. What is the best workflow? I tried a shareware converter but it did not handle fonts properly.

Is possible to make the kindle play your music?

No, I don't think so. Do any Kindle models even have speakers? (I know the Paperwhite does not.)

If it's just a music book, then I would get all the music written, and save the end results as .pdf files. I believe Kindles read PDFs (I could be wrong). If not, there are conversion programs to turn pdf's into ebook format.

If you're adding text, of course it will get a little more complicated, but in the end, a final product as pdf or even better- ebook, would be the desired result.

One small caution- Use one of the many freeware pdf converters, the pdf output in Finale can be something of a bear to stay consistent.

No, PDF files are not protected. Users can just upload / download them without purchasing. Kindle format files are encrypted to the user's accounts are are pretty much unhackable. Amazon does *NOT* recommend PDF files for conversion. They actually prefer word or html
