I have a bit of a problem with adding a drum track to an existing score: erratic tempo changes. The work speeds up, slows down, seemingly randomly. I don't have any tempo changes MARKED in the score except the initial tempo. In neither the original score nor the drum track can I see anything that would change the tempo. Am wondering if some sort of midi instruction is embedded in the drum track (the original score was made from scratch, no importing of a midi file).

Any ideas?

Sounds like tempo data. Have you tried clearing that?

That fixed it. Thanks! Any idea why such stuff gets inserted into a score? I don't recall having done anything in the score. But thanks anyway, perfect, simple, easy fix.

Possibly you used the Apply Human Playback utility?
