As I said, I see all of the region numbers displayed for region 1, 2 and 3. Perhaps we're getting into different behavior on Mac and Windows? Or, am I totally misunderstanding the issue?

Did you delete all three regions first?

The reason it works in your file is that one of the regions goes to 999, and all measure numbers actually attached to real measures are smaller than that. I suspect the 999 came from the original default Finale region. So JW Measures solved the problem by accident. It's not tapping into anything arcane.

The issue I'm reporting is not with the numbers *after* region 3, it's the numbers *in* region 2. I've created an even simpler/shorter version (attached). Region 1 is the first two measures. Region 2 is four measures long. Region 3 is 2 measures long.

As I think you'll see, in Scroll View and in Studio, these display as:
1:1
1:2
2:1
2:2
3
4
3:1
3:2

The issue is that the "3" and "4" that follow "2:2" should be "2:3" and 2:4," respectively.

It seems that whatever length of Region 1 is (say X), the 2nd region only displays correctly until X; after measure 2:X, the "2:" portion does display.

Did you look at the files N and I attached?

In other words, just make the last measure number in the last region in the file a large number.

Ah, OK - got it. Weird. Thanks for your help!

I'd say it IS a bug, though, yes?

Hard to say, but my guess is it was deliberate (though misguided) since it involves displaying the measure number differently in that situation. It's always irritated me, so I'm glad you brought it up and we stumbled on a fix.

I am having this same problem, and I am using Finale 26 and posting this 1.5-2 years after all of these postings.

I dread doing measure number regions, because it NEVER works right for me, and it takes hours for something that should be so easy. Will Finale ever fix this?

I'll post a new thread on this, if I can't figure it out. That seems likely.

I use measure number regions extensively, often a dozen or more regions in a piece. I've only had this problem once.

I find them easy to create, but you might check out the JW plug-in others have mentioned.

I'm encountering the measure-number-region bug where incorrect numbers display in the later-added regions, while earlier regions display properly, so this bug is not yet fixed.

I am able to work-around the bug by clicking on the "style" drop-down box (see pic below), as suggested above in posts from April 25 & 29, 2018 from fcopaja and motet.
