Hello,

I was just browsing an old thread where it seems that all posts by user Ronald J Brown has disappeared. They did show up in the google search so I just wondered if something is wrong with the forum software? As far as I know, I have neither blocked anyone nor been blocked.

Ron requested that his account be closed. As a result, all of his posts were removed.

He was made aware of this result, before activating his request.

Sad that Ron has seen fit to quit the group. His good advice will be missed by many, I'm sure. One usually does not throw in the towel like this without good reason. If that reason is shabby treatment by another member or members, it's even more pitiful.

There is a discussion thread on the "Finale Powerusers" FaceBook page that could be relevant. Too bad, as I came to this forum because of Ron and his invaluable good advice.

It is also sad from the point of view that many threads will lose continuity because posts in the conversation chain are missing.

Ron was being harassed via private messages by a member of this forum.
It seems that nothing was done about it, and he felt that withdrawing from the forum was the best way to deal with the issue.

Private messages are just that: private. Unless Ron forwarded such messages to me (or Peter) so that we could act, or forward them to the site admin, we have only his claims about harassment. Although I don't doubt him, I received no such messages.

Forum members can be blocked. If anyone has an issue with another member, a simple click will remove them from your sight. I used this a number of times on the old forum, and I felt much better.

miker'post contains exactly the information that should be sent to Ron. I wish there could be a way to have him back here.

unfortunately, Ron deleted the messages as they came in (I think many among us would have simply done the same thing as well).
I've also had run-ins in the past with the person in question, and avoid any posts in which they participate.
I know Ron well - we have met on numerous occasions, and I have premiered one of his works in concert - and have no reason whatsoever to doubt the veracity of his claim. Particularly when I consider my own experience with the person in question.

Anyway, Ron is sad not to return to this forum, but at times it is wisest to simply withdraw from an aggravating situation.
Who knows, maybe I'll be able to convince him to return at some point.

If the person is known, he should be named and shamed, or banned.

quite honestly, I think this would be the wrong approach.
And it is also why Ron withdrew from the forum.
I know that this would not be Ron's wish.

Please let this thread die. If Ron chooses to come back, he will be welcome. But there is no point in continuing the discussion.
