Finale 25, Mac
GPO 5, JABB3, COMB2, JW Plugins, Patterson plugins, TG Plugins
I cannot get the Drum Groove plugin to respond. I tried it with an empty default file and with a piano file. I select four measures, choose a style, choose "Add a staff" and nothing happens. I tried using an Existing Staff. No response.
I checked Preferences and selected the Plugin path which was not previously checked, though Finale found it all the same.
The manual says to find the plugin under Makemusic/finale/plugins and I do see a Drum Groove "bundle" there. Could it be empty?

Finale v25 is 64-bit.
Is your Drum Groove plug-in updated to 64-bit?

The Drum Groove plugin comes with Finale 25. How would I check to see if it is 64 bit?

If it comes with v25, then it has to be 64 bit, or compatible with 64 bit. I think possibly the question was to make sure you were no trying to use a version from a prior version of Finale.
So, are you getting any error messages when applying the plugin?

No error messages. I notice that the Latin Percussion files are .MUS files and work normally. The Drum Groove files are .MID files and can be imported to Finale, but not through the action of the plugin.

Since I can use the plugin, and I'm on Windows, I might hazard a guess that this is either a Mac issue, or unique to your system.

Thanks, Zuill. I opened a ticket with Makemusic and I'll update you if they find a solution.

Drum Groove works in Finale 25.
The issue is Latin Percussion.
I found this in the 2014 manual: "Noteman says: This plug-in assumes SmartMusic SoftSynth is chosen as your MIDI output device in the MIDI Setup dialog box."

There is a "bug" in Latin Percussion when you already have staves assigned not to SmartMusic SoftSynth. The tracks inserted by Latin Percussion need to be assign to SoftSyth but may instead be flagged as "missing." in Score Manager. Simply reset them to SoftSynth and it works fine.
