Robert Piechaud has released a completely revised version of his Medieval plug-in for Finale 25. It looks like a serious pice of kit, with some lovely features, though it does have a somewhat professional price-tag.

Only Mac for now, but Windows to follow soon.

Really? Whoa! I never expected to see that again. 199,95 € is certainly reasonable IMO.

For all those who insist that Finale can do plainsong (chant) without the Medieval plug-in... No, it can't.

Finale can fake a 'chant-like' appearance but it is still modern notation. Sometimes, that is really what you need and not the real thing.

I am a-gonna' be spreading the word.

Hi guys,

Just to let you know that the Medieval plug-in 2.1 has been released:
- Medieval is now Mac and Windows
- There are two new user interface languages: Spanish and Portuguese (so now we have 7).
As usual, it include also bug fixes and documentation improvements.
It is a free maintenance release for existing customers (and if you bought it for Mac, you can install it for Windows as well if needed).

Enjoy!
Robert

Hello. I have Finale 25 and Windows 10. I have a problem. I bought a full version of the medieval plugin. I run the installation file and follow the instructions, but after restarting the computer, I do not see this plugin anywhere. Can anyone help me solve my problem.

Hi Bazanos,

I strongly suggest that you get in touch with the Klemm Music team in the first place.
They surely will be able to assist you.

Best,
Robert

I am very interested in this plug-in, but as I recall, when I looked into its documentation, the plugin required you to enter the music in ways which would not allow you to play it back in the same way you would if you had transcribed the piece of medieval music into modern notation. Is this (still) the case? It looks like it might work for chant, since you enter all the notes in as single quarter-note values, but what about the mensural-notation features of this plugin?

Friends, this topic is about the Medieval plugin. Could someone help me with the problem you see in the video? At the time of laying neumes, everything breaks down.
