I have created a new shape (my first), but how do I include it in all new and old scores? It only appears in the score that I created it in. I searched the forum but could not find my answer. I have Finale 2008, old I know, but maybe this hasn't changed in later versions. Thank you.

Save a Library with that shape, then load that library into any other document.

First, delete all the other Shapes and Save a Library (Edit menu) only containing your own shape. Give it a name.
Second, Load that library into other documents... Your shape will be added under the existing ones.
You could also add that Library to your templates and default files.

Thank you. I've never saved a library before. I saved the library and imported it, and it worked.

If I saved my library over the original Articulation library and replaced it, would all new and old scores automatically load that new library as the default?

Old documents, certainly not automatically. You'll need to load the library.
New documents, only if you modify the "Maestro Font Default" file, "Jazz Font Default" File etc... and add your Library to them.
You will have to load it into all the templates.

P.S. : as I said, when you load a library, it does not replace the existing one, it adds its contents to it (at the bottom).

cowboypriest,

In Other Words:
Libraries (and their contents) are document specific (not program specific).

All new documents are created from template(s).
To have your new shape in all new documents, add the shape to all of the templates you use when creating new documents.

To get the new shape in already existing documents, add the shape to each of the documents (= load the library into each document).
