JW Change Installation

I'm trying to install the JW Change Plug-In, but I'm having no success.

On the Finaletips.nu website it says:

"To install a plug-in on the Mac:

Find out where your plug-ins folder is located by looking in the Preferences (Program Options in earlier Finale versions) at the Folders page
Put the plug-in bundle in that folder (or in a subfolder if you want it in a submenu to the Plug-ins menu). Please note that on Lion, the plug-ins folder is hidden by default.
Restart Finale"

But I still can't find it when I do that. Am I missing a step? I REALLY want to be able to align my articulations easily......

Thanks!

Ignore those very old instructions.

You don't say what Mac OS but it shouldn't matter. This is true for any OS that runs 2014.5 as long as you have Admin privileges.

Those plugs should go to Library/Application Support/Make Music/Finale 2014.5/Plug-ins

You can create a new folder and name it JW Plug-ins or just put them in the Plug-ins folder

Make certain that you install the older, 32 bit plugs and not the new 64 bit plugins as those work in Finale 25 only.

If you are a shared user and do not have Admin privileges on your Mac, the path will be different. Post that and I'll tell you where they go.

The download seemed to work, thank you!

How can I tell whether I have the 32 bit or 64 bit version? I can't seem to get it to do what the tutorial video is showing me.

If you have Finale 2014.5 or earlier, you have the 32-bit version.

ONLY Finale 25 is 64-bit.

Are you sure you downloaded the correct plugin?

It can be a little confusing.

The 32bit plugins for Finale 2014.5 and earlier (Mac) are here:

The 64 bit files for Finale 25 (Mac) are here:

You need to tell us what we don't know beginning with your OS including the version. Sierra, for example isn't good enough, I want to know the version (this is important).

What version of JW Change did you install? Did you install it into a JW Plug-ins folder or not?

The correct version of JW Change does work with 2014.5. The question is why isn't it working for you?

I have sierra 10.12.5
I installed the JW change into it's own JW plug ins folder
I installed the version from this page: https://www.finaletips.nu/index.php/dow ... or-windows

I can open the JW plug in in finale, and click on snap to guide, but it won't apply and I don't understand why.

Thank you for your help, I'm just not sure what I'm doing wrong.

OK, your first post said that it was crashing. Is this no longer the case?

If so, describe how you are trying to use it. There's so much functionality that we need to know more to help.

Have you selected a region first?

Only certain items can be snapped to a guide. If it is not on the list, it won't happen.

Finale 2012 is not supported on 10.14.

According to the manual, you should have a folder for plugins.

https://usermanuals.finalemusic.com/Fin ... nName=main

Maybe it’s time to upgrade.

Program options/Folders will show you where the plug-ins should live.

Generally , FInale works fine with my 10.14.
I enclosed a screenshot of the error
I may try to reinstall or to look once again for the missing plug-ins
[/img]folder
I'll Consider an upgrade, or switch to Sibelius , becacuse I want it to work alongside with pro tools
