In linked parts, I want the instrument name not to appear to the left of every staff/system.
For single-staff parts, there is the Staff Attributes option to display Staff Name in Parts, which can be unchecked.
For multiple-staff (keyboard) parts, one wants to hide the Group name in the part. But I can't find any setting for this.
Is it so that the only way to hide the group names in the parts is to do it manually after generating the parts?
It would be good to have such a setting for group names, too, not only for staff names! Or am I missing something?

This works for me (in Finale v25):
In this example let us say that you need to hide the group name in a Piano part.
Document menu > Edit Part > Piano
Staff Tool
Staff menu > Groups and Brackets > Edit…
Since there is only one staff group in the Piano part, Finale shows the Group Attributes for the Piano staff group.
In the Group Attributes, de-select “Show Group Name”.
The group name will still display in the score.

No need for a staff style:BuonTempi wrote:At the very least, you could use a Staff Style to hide the name in the parts.

Thank you for your replies.
I was hoping for a setting that would automatically take care of hiding the group name in a part. (Just like "Display Staff Name in Parts" does when unchecked.)
But there doesn't seem to be such a setting. Which is a bit weird, as in the vast majority of cases one wouldn't want the instrument's name displayed in the left margin of a (keyboard) part.
It seems the only way to do it in multiple-staff parts (keyboard etc.) is to do it manually, after the parts have been created.

Thanks Pete!
Worked for me.
I don't know if it's just me but when I have a question (or often forgotten the answer from the last time I asked the question...)
I feel it's quicker to type the question into google than search the manual.
Thanks again for taking the time to answer on these forums.
