reposition tuplet number?

Hi everyone,

Thanks to the amazing help here, I've been able to get cross-staff tuplets up and working. The only problem is that for 2 of them, the '9' and '10' numbers have positioned themselves too high once I dragged the beam using Beam Angle tool. Is there a way of grabbing these numbers and dragging them a bit lower? This is in Finale2008, on a Windows machine.

Thanks a lot!

Peter

From the Selection tool, click on the number until there's a small box around it. You may have to click more than once. Then you can drag it down. Make sure you're in the right layer.

Actually, with the Selection Tool, just select the number and move it. No need to get the box.

As long as there's nothing nearby like a slur (probably OK here). You'll notice that if you click and drag, the box momentarily appears, then disappears because the mouse key is down.

I wonder why those numbers are where they are. Did you originally put the tuplets on the bottom staff?

By the way, Peter, you can angle those tremolo beams if you want, and drag them up and down, with the Beam Angle tool. When you click in the measure a handle appears on each side of the beam. The left one moves the whole thing up and down. The right one moves the right side only, to create an angle.

Thanks so much all of you! Yes, this is the result of an unimaginably complex (for me) set of operations to create cross-staff tuplets as grace-note groups. The selection tool worked, as long as I avoided some slurs I'd put in. Without you guys, I doubt if I could have figured this out in months!

I have a brief question about the Easy Tremolo tool: this has worked fine for me, but I'm wondering if there's any way to drag the 3 tremolo lines up or down a bit? To position them optimally.

Thanks again,

a grateful Peter

Yes, that's what I was talking about in the previous posting. Beam Angle tool.
