I cannot seem to install the Finale 25.5 update. The updater just says "finished prematurely due to error" (or something like this.)

I'm running on Windows 10 on an HP desktop.

Has anyone else had a similar problem. I couldn't find anything on the Makemusic website. I've never had an installer fail. I did download it twice. I also put it on the desktop and ran as and administrator with the same result.

Disable antivirus/firewall, etc. Sometimes these can cause problems.

What web browser did you use to download the updater?
Have you tried downloading with another web browser?

I've downloaded with IE and Edge and run as administrator. I'll try disabling the anti-virus stuff.

Another trick: Reboot, and try again immediately, before launching any other programs.

I did reboot for other reasons and tonight, the same program (or whatever occupies that spot on the disk) worked fine.
