I can't seem to space out my notes in my measure properlly. i've try the select>utilities>music spacing and all of those options don't do anything. How do I space this out legibly? thank you an attachement of a print screen of what is going on is included

It looks like your systems are locked. Select all and go to Utilities > Unlock Systems. Then run spacing again. Once everything is spaced satisfactorily, do lock the systems to keep your layout from changing.

You have to select the measures to apply spacing. And, make sure that there is enough room. If there are too many notes in a line, no spacing adjustment will work!
