I'm on Mac in Finale 25.1

By default Finale uses Times New Roman 10 italic for measure numbers. I always change this to something more legible, eg. Arial regular 14.
If I want an extra measure number over a bar, I select that bar and I choose from the (Measure) menu: Show Measure Numbers. The measure number appears, but its font is back to Times New Roman 10 italic and I cannot find a possibility to change this. Can anyone?

Document Options > Fonts > Text > Measure Numbers. Change to your Arial 14 there.

This only affects measure numbers entered after you make this change. If you have any already entered that are wrong, delete them and re-enter to get the new font.

If you have a piece with more than 100 measures, there is often not enough space for measure numbers in parts in a "standard" text font like Arial.
In this case a condensed font often fits better while maintaining the readability.
Here are some suggestions for some common condensed measure number and lyrics fonts:

Thanks for the reply, but this does not address the problem with incidental measure numbers. They still appear in TNR 10 italic.

A very kludgy workaround would be to create a measure region for that measure only and set it to show the measure number on "every" measure in the region. The larger font sticks if you do this.

If you only have a couple of instances in the score this would be worth the trouble, but if you have lots it would be a nuisance.
