Mixed notation - slashes + rhythmic hits

Hi guys, I am using Finale 2014 for Windows.
My goal is to create slash notation for chords and rhythmic hits above in the same measure on the same staff.

I made the two layers, in the first one entered quarter notes, in the second- the rhythm I need. I put the second layer above the staff by removing the ledger lines. Next, when I change my layer 1 staff style to slashes, then the slash notation becomes the only thing I see. I need to be able to display both style in the same measure by using 2 layers. How do I do that?

Edit the staff style Slash Notation, and let the staff style show contents in Other Layers.
