Hi all,

I'm working with a score and need to change from one percussion instrument to another that uses a custom stave that I've set up but I can't seem to find it in the "change instrument" dialog box anywhere. Maybe I missed something when I created it that saves it to one of the percussion categories?

Thanks a ton!

We probably need to see a sample file. I'm not sure what you mean by custom staff.

I guess what I meant by custom staves was a custom percussion layout. I've attached some images to try to help but if it doesn't help, I can just share the finale file.

So I set up a custom layout that has a sizzle cymbal but later on I want to switch to another custom layout that I set up that has other instruments on it, but can't seem to find it in the "instrument change" dialog. Is there a way to save it to be in that dialog?

MIDI/Audio->Device Setup->Edit Percussion MIDI Maps?

After looking into that, it seems like what that menu is for is to add/change the actual midi key values assigned to the percussion sounds rather than saving entire layouts as instruments. Thanks for the suggestion though!

I still can't seem to find the instruments in the change instrument dialog, sorry for being so difficult! I appreciate all the help!

I saw your question on Facebook. I think the best way to achieve what you want is to combine the two layouts. You can have more than one instrument share the same line or space (though easier to enter music if they're not shared).
