Finale version 25.3.0
How do I disable the autofill with rests function? In earlier versions of Finale, there was an option to enable it, but with the current version it's enabled all the time; can't find option to disable it.

You can create a Staff Style that un-selects "Display Rests in Empty Measures".

Maybe I misunderstood the question. I thought you were asking about the default rests in measures, but if you were asking about Finale filling out measures with rests, then Mike's advice is what you need.
