Is there a fast way to erase a continuous region of a measure of a staff not affecting any other things?
cf) Using mass edit tool, drag the region in the measure that I want to erase, and click delete -> This procedure cause two unexpected (for me) bad results.
The first is "all the other parts of the same column are also deleted."
The second is "whole score (after the deleted region) is completely spoiled" - Finale 2005 caculate the time interval of the deleted region, and write music of the next part starting from the beginning of deleted region.
If there is no way, please teach me to erase a whole measure of a staff not affecting any other things. Thanks !

If I understand your question :
Don't use delete, it does what is supposed to do : it will delete all the selected measures completely. Instead, select the region to clear in the appropriate staves and use clear (that's the top left key on the numeric keypad).

Highlight what you want cleared first, then mass edit menu>Clear entries or clear items. Clear Items gives you more choices as to what to do.

Yes, I tried to delete a certain layer of selected region by Mass Edit -> Clear items, but I couldn't. The menu "Clear items" offers many options but definitely it does not offer such a function (deleting only certain layer).
Anyone who knows the exact answer ?

Make sure you are in that layer.tracid wrote:How to clear a certain layer of selected region ?
Options menu : select "Show active layer only"
Then select region and clear.
Finally, uncheck "Show active layer only" to see all layers again.
