MIDI file - Piano instead of drums.

I downloaded a MIDI file and discovered the drums are set to the piano. I'm in Studio view and can select a program/bank (unsure of correct name) and while the MIDI is playing I can get the drums instead of a piano. However, if I stop the play and then start it again the sound reverts to piano again. Next, I checked the Score Manager to observe MIDI (instrument list) settings. I think it looks correct. I see channel 10 (which I believe are the drums). Then, someone posted on the old Finale forum that Human Playback needs to be selected for the drums to work. That seems to be correct - however now the timing sound funny to me. So, I am unsure if the MIDI file is just messed up or if I need to do something (configure Finale).

I made a YouTube video describing - pretty much what I typed above

If you post the MIDI file, I'm sure we can figure it out for you.

Sorry for the delay, but this forum doesn't allow MIDI files to be uploaded. I got the following error:

The extension mid is not allowed.

So, what I did was uploaded the file here:

Actually you can upload a MIDI file here - via a cheat:
The file name extensions from compressed files - such as .zip and .rar - are allowed in this forum.

In Other Words:
Compress the MIDI file - e. g. as a ZIP file.
You can upload the ZIP file here.

This file seems to play back pretty well.

Not for me when I use Finale.
It worked for Cubase though - so I'm using that.

This is what my version of Finale does

That YouTube is not my file. My file plays back correctly.

You. You attached it to an earlier post of yours. I just took your file and fixed the playback.

The reason why I asked was because the triplets got fixed on your version - so I thought, perhaps, it wasn't the same file.

I guess I can send my dysfunctional MIDI files to you to fix - since my version of Finale doesn't seem to work correctly.

It's not a problem with the version you have. It has to do with tools, settings, and experience using them. I only know how to do things that maybe you don't because I have been using Finale for over 20 years, and I have spent much time exploring the various features. It may take you some time to learn how things work, but it is worth it in the long run. If I do it for you, you won't learn it for yourself.

So, how do I fix the problem originally stated in the first post?

Different from the fix I gave before? Did you look at my file?

I have experienced the same issue when exporting a MIDI file from iReal and then importing that same file into Finale. This time the drums sound like fretless string instrument. So, is the known fix a well guarded secret?
