In the attached file, I can't seem to change the playback sounds in the Score Manager by pulling down the Sound menu. No matter what I pick--piano, voice sounds, saxophone--it plays back a not-very-pleasant synthesized voice with a sharp attack and a lot of reverb. How do I change sounds? MIDI, not VST, please.

Can't anybody help me out here? I even tried changing the instrument names from Soprano, Alto, etc. to Piano, which changed Sound to Grand Piano, but it still plays back the horrid synthesized voice.

I can't get your file to change sounds either. In fact I couldn't get it to play any sounds at first. I had to close the file, open a default document and input some notes on the staff to get sound happening again.

My only guess is that somehow your file has become corrupted.

Thanks for trying it. I got it from IMSLP and modified it slightly (bigger lyrics, different system breaks) so I don't know its provenance. I did submit it to MM support, so we'll see what they say.

I confirm the problem. I can't change the sounds either. Could there be some midi data embedded in the file ? Try clearing midi data.

I used the MIDI Tool. Choose continuous data, then patch changes. Highlight the score and clear.
