In Finale 25.2 for Mac, is there a way to keep a chord symbol attached to a note in the music, but NOT have the spacing of the music after that chord symbol be affected? This is especially bad when the chord symbol is a long one, e.g., Gm7/C.
This is forcing the music spacing into large gaps, making it look unbalanced and unprofessional.

It sounds like you have "Avoid Collisions of Chords" checked in Document Options > Music Spacing. You can uncheck it and respace the music - does that look better? This feature often causes more problems than solutions and it's probably better to try other means of adjusting chord symbols when that becomes necessary. You could post a small Finale file to illustrate the problem.

Have you tried this?
Mac OS X 12.6.9 (Monterey), Finale user since 1996
That did it! Thank you both very much.
Despite having used Finale since the late 1980s, there are still little things like this which elude me. I'm glad I found this forum. I'll be scouring it for more tips & fixes.
