I have v.25.3 for Mac. I'm alternating between 2/4 and 6/8. What's the easiest way to have the eighths be constant throughout on playback? THX!

If I understand you correctly, you need the 8ths to play back at the same speed everywhere, right?

See the attached Finale document (which alternates between 2/4 and 6/8).
TimeChanges.musx
As Far As I Can Tell, the 8ths play back at a constant speed in my attached document.
And that is what Finale does by default.

Do you have a Finale document that does not play back at the same speed everywhere?

If you have tempo marks, turn off playback for all but the first.

THX for the replies and the attached exm.

I do have a doc where the 8ths are not constant. However I copied and pasted a chunk of it into a clean doc and all is well.

I might have altered things trying to insert some desired tempo changes. (Out of a lingering resentment for the loss of the TEMPO TOOL, I've not yet mastered tempo changes w/ this latest version.)

I tried something I read in a manual that involved the MIDI TOOL and turning off Human Playback...perhaps in doing so I messed w/ the beat unit...who knows?

I'll start clean, and if I run into issues w/ tempo changes, that'll be by next post! THX again...d

You can use Clear Selected Items and pick MIDI Data to clear that.
