On MAC, How do I enter a quarter note tuplet where the first note is a half note.

The method varies with the input tool and method (MIDI or not).

Since I don't know MAC keystrokes, I can't advise.

In Windows, In Simple Entry, enter a half note, then press alt-9. Then choose 3 quarters in place of 2. Then enter the quarter note where the rest pops up.

In Speedy, enter the first note as a quarter (Alt-3, 5) then press the back arrow and change the note to a half (6).

Zuill's instructions are the same for the Mac, except you tap Option-9 to enter the tuplet definition box.
