In the attached example I wonder if I have done it as well as possible. In meas.2, I want the last three eighth notes to be tied to the whole note chord in meas.3. However I don't want the bottom A in that chord tied with the fifth eighth note in the previous measure. I wonder if it's clear from the example. I have tried extending the ties so that they fully reach the final chord, but the penultimate eighth note in meas.2 almost looks like it is tied with the bottom A in the final measure. Is there a better way of doing this, or is my example good enough? Thanks.

I'm not a piano player, but lacking any kind of direction this is how I'd do it. I doubt whether there is any crystal clear way to notate this figure. Most competent pianists are probably used to untangling things like this.
