I bought a new car, from this completely new company. It's really cool, they say it will do ALL of this really cool stuff.
It cost me $51,000.
I did have to wait 2 months for their first "upgrade" though, they added the left front and right rear wheels.
But the car is SO much better than my former car that had all 4 wheels right from the get-go, because it's radio didn't always get all the channels I wanted, this new car though has a radio that works perfectly and gives me all the channels I want, when I'm sitting in it in my garage, waiting for the next parts to be added.
Then after 3 months they did another upgrade, I got a brake pedal and a steering wheel. So much better than my other car, they never upgraded anything.
And then again at 4 months they installed the motor. They say it's going to be the MOST powerful motor in the industry, when the rest of the motor assembly is completed maybe next month or the next upgrade.

I think you get my point.

To be totally fair, it sounds like you are talking about D*****.

Here's another 'straw car' for you.

The alternative is a car that's got all it's wheels, but two of them don't work, and the manufacturer won't tell you if or when it'll ever get fixed. It won't run on the newest unleaded fuels. You have to spend the whole journey manually adjusting the fuel/air mixture and controlling the spark plug firing. You've had it for 25 years, so you've developed a sentimental attachment to it that exceeds all practicality.

Well said!
Come on, Michel. That’s hardly reasonable, considering what Dorico’s already capable of and how intelligently its features have been implemented. Hardly comparable to a car radio!

But maybe you more or less do know how to drive it & feel you might be too old to want to learn to cope as well with the latest wizz machine…

That apart, let's wait and see what's on offer in Finale 26 (as pointed out by several above, the notice put out by MM is strikingly lacking in useful information).

Did I read that correctly? They have been working on the new 26 for a year now? What did they do for the first year after 25?

Not to mention Smart Music. I think Smart Music was a major factor in Peaksware's purchase of Make Music, along with the XML technology.

Hmmm... I must have missed the memo. Are we supposed to care about you being impressed?

I'm happy they're still in business and evidently working on the program. I'll settle for that.

No not really, I am nobody so why are some of you trying. A few little bug swats in 2 years and you are impressed? Fine more power to ya.

You regularly offer your own subjective opinions throughout this forum. It seems unnecessary, at best, to slap someone else down for it.

About freaking time!

Sibelius has been doing this since the '90's.

Nice feature that I'll use a lot. Several more like this that deal with the music engraving utility of Finale would make the new version indispensable. We'll see…
