Adding a custom chord suffix to a slash chord

I know how to add a custom chord suffix to a good ol' root chord.

But when I try to add a new suffix to a slash chord, it disappears!

For example, I have A/C, and I want to create a custom suffix for the C. But it won't let me. Normally a box pops up that says "Hey, I don't recognize this suffix. Do you want to create it?" But in this case, nothing.

Thoughts? Is there a workaround?

Thanks!
Dan

Finale cannot add a suffix to the alternate bass note, if that is what you want. No polychords. A/C7 is not possible. C7b913 is.
You have to use a workaround : use 2 chords with their suffix, place them wherever you want and use a line in between.

Sorry, I meant a custom alteration. I'm using a slanted font for chords, and the sharp and flat symbols are too close to the chord letter name (I'm using Engraver Font Extras oblique). I worked around this by creating a custom sharp and flat that are spaced better. I guess I could just add a text box to the chord...

To be clearer: I want a chord like A/C# or D/F#. The problem is that when I use an oblique font transformation, the sharp sign is too close to the letter. So I'm trying to find a way (any way) to modify the space between the letter and the sharp.

I created a custom shape for regular chords, but I can't apply that to a slash chord.

Thanks in advance!

I do not know of a way to adjust the distance between Symbol and Alteration.

However, you can adjust the vertical positioning of the Alteration.
That might help a bit:

The method I have used is to include the slash, alternate bass and the alteration in the suffix. I know that is not ideal, but one way to do it.
