Hey people.

I have a question about tie length, when there is hidden rests or notes between.

In this case, I need that the tie on the first D (first voice of F clef) extends till the following D, but there is a hidden rest before, because of the notes in the bass. How can I do that with correct alignment?

This image shows the problem.

Thanks a lot

The Tie Tool should let you extend it but it may not tie in playback. The other way would be to make it a tuplet--9 beats in the space of 8 or some such, hiding number and bracket--in which case you could do away with the hidden rests.

ZEduPT,

I am not sure I understand your attached image.

Do you mean something like the attached Finale document?

Like Peter, I didn't understand it, either. But, why not use a unison D in layer one? Then, you can tie your layer one notes using the Tie tool (special tools) and dragging the tie over the rest.

Well,

First, I appologize if I didn't explain it well. I think in one language and write it on another.

In fact, there is a unison D in layer one, but they are overlaid. I can tie using tie tool, but there isn't automatic ajustment and alignment, once tie is associated to the hidden rest. And if i readjust the spacing of all score, it does not readjust automatically that tie. Correct?

But motet's solution provides me an idea that works for what I need. I didn't thought that way and it was the solution that works for me.
