I've been working with Finale for quite some time.

I've always done things this way ...

I'll do all my work in Scroll View and then move to Page View to finalize the layout. I've always noticed that before moving to Page View, I have to select the Staff Tool, Select ALL, and then right click and select "Use selected staff style for score and parts".

If I don't do this, the staff style will differ from Page View to Scroll view.

A friend who works in Finale said he never has to do this.

Is there a way to make this a default action in Finale where the Page view will always be the same as the Scroll view staff styles?

I am guessing your explanation is leaving things out. The only issue I am aware of is the bug involving copying and pasting styles. That is an issue not between scroll view and Page view, but between Score and Parts. Maybe we need a bit more information or a sample file with a description of the exact steps that you are using.

When I open up a new document from my templates, it opens in scroll view.

Whenever I change any staff styles and then move to Page View, the staff styles aren't the same.

I always have to, in Scroll View, choose the Staff Tool and SELECT ALL then right click and select USE STAFF STYLES FOR PARTS AND SCORE.

I'm wondering if there's a way to always have my Page View staff styles be the same as my Scroll View staff styles.

I'm on Windows, which has never behaved this way. I'm going to guess Mac works different than Windows.

wonder,

What you are experiencing, is not usual behaviour in Finale.

I suggest that you attach a (small) Finale sample document here, for the gurus to examine.

We can open your document, and view it in Scroll View and Page View.
And hopefully someone can figure out, what is going on.

I never got around to replying to this.

Since my upgrade to v26, this issue seems to have gone away.
