Finale 25.5.0.259
Mac, OS 10.13.6

In the attached extract from a choral score, there is a word extension in the alto part, but nothing I have been able to do has produced a word extension in the apparently parallel tenor part. Why? And what can I do (apart from just drawing a line from the Speedy Entry tools)?

Thanks in anticipation of help.

Try Utilities Menu > Update Smart Word Extensions and Hyphens. If that doesn't work, the extension may be too short to display. Go to Lyric Menu > Edit Word Extensions. There is a handle where the extension would appear - drag it out using the mouse.

I have found the. solution myself. I deleted the word, inserted a rest and more notes in the tenor part and then re-inserted the word under the first note without any hyphens. That did it.

Thank you very much, N. Grossinglink. I posted my own reply to myself before seeing your reply, which will be very useful on future occasions.
