Vertical position of root note in slash chords

I'm attempting to reposition the look of slash chords. The bar/slash separator between the prefix and root (bass) note is too far up vertically.

This is what it looks like.

I'd like to clean this up so the slash is lower and splitting the difference between the "1" and the "5".

How do I do this?

This is a part of Finale that could have more options.
I have not found a setting that does, what you are asking for.

As a workaround you can add a custom expression that covers the real Underline, and adds a false Underline at a lower position.

See the attached Finale document.

How about this?
I used the Smart Shape line, positioned it under the top chord symbol,
then added the bottom chord symbol, and repositioned manually.
What are you using Numbers instead of the usual Chord Symbols?

thats an option.

re: Nashville. I rarely EVER do Nashville charts ... this just happened to be a chart where the band wanted Nashville charts in case we changed keys.

Hey, Thanks!
I also use the Forward Slash, but it puts the suffix next to the chord symbol.
I make a different one for each Bass Note I use, and Select as needed from the Chord Menu.
Then you can use the usual Edit Suffix tools for exact placement.
You may not like having the Suffix next to the Chord, tho...

I use Left Align Chord Symbols so have the slash chords appear "after root" tends to clog up the measures visually.

Anyone have any thoughts on this?

I'd like to make my slash chords look a little nicer.

Why is there so much space between the line and the bass note?

Peter Thomsen gave you a solution earlier in this thread. Did you try it?

You could save a bit of trouble by configuring the alternate bass in the usual manner - BbMa7/F, where the slash and bass follows the root chord. Positioning the bass below the root chord as you have it is actually used to indicate a bitonal chord - a complete Bb chord over a complete F chord.

I've never in my life had any tell me they're confused by the "bi-tonal" markings of said chords written in the "Fraction" style I'm displaying above or had anyone play 2 full chords when reading this style of chord markings.

I did not see Peter's offering but trying it out, I'm afraid it's not practical for my process.

I guess an easier way to edit the chord is to raise the bass note up a bit to be closer to the separator line.

At any rate, thanks for the help.
