Hello everyone,
I'm in the process of writing a new orchestral work, and I'd like to use a percussion MIDI map from a previous piece that I wrote in F2012. I'm currently working in F14/14.5. Is there a way that I can bring my F12 perc maps over to F14 without overwriting what is already there? In other words, merging the maps of F12 and F14 together?
I think I need to import the .XML file from F12, but I'm worried that I might Iose my existing F14 maps...?
Thanks as always!
Regards,
Andrew

As you know, the Percussion MIDI Maps reside in the folder MIDI Device Annotation.
Finale 2012 has its Percussion MIDI Maps in its own, separate folder.
And Finale 2014 has its Percussion MIDI Maps in its own, separate folder.
You can move your Finale 2012 Percussion MIDI Maps to the Finale 2014 folder.
Just make sure that no files are identically named - you are not allowed to have two identically named files in the same folder.
You could e. g. add ‘2012’ to the file names of your Finale 2012 Percussion MIDI Maps, like this:
General MIDI 2012.xml
