Maintaining transposition throughout song

Am using Windows 25.
Am doing a song with notation and tab. By inserting tab first, then selecting a few measures and pasting them to the notation, they come up an octave too low. I know that is because of me using a piano notation staff instead of a guitar staff, but it generally works for me by selecting the "transposition " drop down menu and.....selecting: utilities/ transpose/ diatonically/ octave/ OK.
Problem: It won't always last throughout my project. I have to go back to "utilities" etc. because I'm using piano staff instead of guitar staff.
Question: Is there a way to keep it in the "up one octave" setting throughout the rest of the song? Maybe through using the "edit filter" or something on that line?
I hope this makes sense. Hard for me to discribe the situation. Any help would sure be appreciated. Been using a template I created. Hope I don't have to redo it and use a Guitar staff instead.

I'm not sure what the easiest way would be, but you can easily transpose the notes after pasting by selecting, when in the Selection Tool, then pressing 9. That metatool is Up One Octave.

Is correct octave playback an issue, or is layout all that matters?

By The Way:
According to your Profile, you are using Finale 2014 (shown to the right of your post), but in your post you tell that you now are using Finale v25.

Perhaps you should update your Profile.

Correct playback is necessary. I've been having to go through the Utilities/ Transpose etc. It works but I have to do that each time instead of it staying that way there after.
I'll update my profile but I did have the same problem with version 2014.

In Other Words:
You need the piano sounding an octave higher than the guitar, right?

In that case there is no other way than transposing the music after copying.
When copying Finale maintains the sounding octave playback level.

But transposing is simple and quick with the number 9 metatool, as Zuill points out.

Overview:
9 transposes the selected an octave up
8 transposes the selected an octave down
7 transposes the selected a scale step up
6 transposes the selected a scale step down

Thanks to all of you for your help, especially to Zuill. The 9 metatool works good for me, much quicker than going through Utilities.
I do have win ver 25.5. Just updated it.
