I've been using Finale for years and even in this version, this particular anomaly hasn't occured until recently and it is entirely frustrating. I've searched everywhere, tried toggling many seemingly related settings, but I can't figure it out so I'm asking for help.
If you see the screenshot I've attached. you'll easily see the problem. When I enter notes in realtime using Hyperscribe, they splatter all over the pages instead of conforming to measures. If I respace the measures, they fall in, but still that is a huge hassle and I've never had to do it before.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I think that might be it. I tried some test runs after updating the layout and it seems to be working. I'll have to incorporate in my workflow to see if it is truly the fix, but I was just reading about the update layout feature and it seems to fit the facts.
