My time signature dialog box is frozen. It will not change either note values or number of beats in any of my Finale files, either new or already existing. I've tried closing and reopening the program, as well as shutting down the computer. I'm still using 2014.5, though I have recently updated to High Sierra (Mac). 2014.5 is the only 32 bit app in my app line-up - might that have something to do with it? Is there some obscure box that inadvertently got checked or unchecked? Time to update to v25?

Thanks for any help you can give.

I would check and if necessary renew the Finale preferences:

How are you changing the settings? Are you are clicking to the side of the slider or grabbing and moving the slider?

FYI the adjustments are done differently in 25.

Thank you both, Bill and N. Moving the sliders solves my problem, for now. (Before, I was always able to change the settings by clicking to the side.) I'll investigate the preferences tomorrow.

Gratefully,

I don't think this is a preferences issue. I don't remember the exact timing, but it occurred with one of the operating system updates. As I wrote before, the problem doesn't happen in 25 as there is a slightly different method for making time signatures. Remember that for common time signatures you can control-click and choose from the drop-down list.
