I need a large conductor's score for my work, say 17"x19". With nice black ink. What's the best way to make that happen? Take the PDFs to a professional print shop? Thanks for any help whatsoever.

Yes, take your PDFs to a print shop and they'll take care of it. They will need to order 17x22 paper and trim it down - it will be expensive. Could you possibly go with 11x17? That would be a lot more reasonable cost-wise and easier for a conductor to deal with. You'd need a special music stand to accomodate 17x19.

Just curious - how many staves per page? Is each score stave a separate instrument, or do you have combined staves in the score where possible (Flute 2/3, Horn 3/4, Trombone 1/2, etc.)?

Thanks for your help. I am using Finale's concert band template, so I have 23 staves plus four percussionists not counting timpani. Yes, I have combined a few instruments onto one staff line. And yes, I think I can go with 11x17 if I adjust the width. I'll give that a try. The four percussion parts were insane to work on. I've got four players playing 10 different instruments, and Finale just isn't set up to easily change percussion instruments frequently (e.g. Tenor Drum to Suspended Cymbal to Glock to Crash Cymbal back to Tenor Drum). I know percussionists like to make their own decissions about who plays what when, but I don't want to use 10 percussion staves! I'll post a reply when I get the score printed. Thank again.

It may not be necessary with 10 staves.
Since there are only 4 percussionists, it may be enough with a single 4-staff “percussion part”, which is printed in 4 copies, one copy to each percussionist.
Then, all 4 percussionists can see “the entire percussion score”, and make decisions about “who plays what”.

Good idea. Thanks. It may require more than 4, since they have to also play glock, vibes, and chimes. Lucky to find drummers who can also play mallets.
