Friends,
I would like to notate in Finale single time signature numbers, such as Messiaen does. A numerator that represents number of beats in measure, without denominator.

Ok, I see, but not on a limited number of measures only?
I will stick with Expressions, but is there any way to prevent music to cover the number, when re-spacing?

Add space at the beginning of the measure by dragging the handle.

I'd say it's better to use the "Extra space at beginning of measure" value in the Measure Attributes dialog, where you can enter always the same amount. Dragging is less precise.

Isn't motet's first method, using the Time Signature options, quite precise, and much faster?

(Only if you want it globally in the whole document, of course. I wasn't quite sure if that was the case.)

I think that was the objection.

Yes, this works actually quicker and more precise.
Thanks all!

....Actually, Finale sometimes (why, when?) returns back the extra space on the beginning of edited measures.

How to prevent it to happen, so to have it fixed in eternity forever?

If you do it in Measure Attributes (Extra Space at Beginning), it will be fixed in eternity forever.

Hm.. but it has returned back.
I am not sure what I have done that is affecting it. Something I did, but not this... :(

If you add space at the beginning of a measure and later use Measure Attributes to edit a range of measures of which this measure is a part, the additional space measure will be set back to zero.
